4 Animal Rescues in Hong Kong

Just a few of our favourite things, pet related of course. Not sponsored. Not written by a professional. Not a doctor. Just pet enthusiasts.

Considering bringing a fur friend into your life? There are many rescues and adoption organisations in Hong Kong, here’s four of our favs.

1. Lifelong Animal Protection Charity (LAP)

Founded by Sheila McClelland, LAP is a non-profit, volunteers run animal rescue. Pre-COVID19, they hold regular meets and greets at local spots, from pet friendly restaurants to pop-up events around the city. Fostering is also available. Hana and Mochi was adopted from here!

4. Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR)

HKDR was founded in 2003 for the purpose of saving dogs and puppies from the Hong Kong Government’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) Animal Management Centres, where thousands of dogs are destroyed every year. Since then, they are one of most popular and recognisable dog rescues in Hong Kong.
