Interview: Zelda

Pets, they’re your best friend and confidant. Big or small, fluffy or a bit scruffy, it doesn’t matter, we love them all. They’re there for you unconditionally and the feeling is mutual. Our interview series celebrates this special bond between animals and hoomans. Let the awws begin.

Hooman: My name is Eva and I live in Brooklyn, NY with my fiancé Derek, and Zelda!

My fiancé and I dated a long time ago in college, but broke up when I moved to New York. Eight years later he moved to New York and we started dating again, and we got to know each other again while playing through every single The Legend of Zelda Nintendo game together. It's the perfect name for our little girl!

She's truly a "princess!" She's always been a bit anxious of the big city and other dogs/people. She has a few good friends that she does well with, but at the end of the day she's a true homebody (like her parents), and is very sweet and affectionate.

Like most dachshunds, Zelda’s not a fan of the rain. Once, we put her in her raincoat (see third picture) to go potty outside while it was raining very hard one night, and while Derek was carrying her down the elevator to go out, she pooped in his hands in protest. Since then she will potty outside in the rain with no problem, however!

Our lives are 1000% better with Zelda in it! She factors into every part of our daily routine and every decision we make. She brings so much love and joy to our lives.
