Interview: Gami

Pets, they’re your best friend and confidant. Big or small, fluffy or a bit scruffy, it doesn’t matter, we love them all. They’re there for you unconditionally and the feeling is mutual. Our interview series celebrates this special bond between animals and hoomans. Let the awws begin.

Hooman: Resident of the Big Apple aka New York City

Doggo: Gami (18 years old)

Home: New York

When Gami was born, she was completely black (see last photo), with just a few white patches on her chest and feet! “Gami” (spelled 까미 in Korean) is a play on the Korean word for “black.” She has very gracefully embraced her silver locks now.

Pre-pandemic days, Gami typically wakes up on her own around 7:00 for her morning walk. Once she’s had a bit of coffee and everyone is ready to leave, we take the subway to her office in midtown, where she acts as the CPO (Chief Poodle Officer) for Cushnie. She’s not very good at her job, and she pretty much just sleeps all the time, but I think the girls at work enjoy stopping in throughout the day and saying hello.

Gami has a big personality — I think the idea of a “Napoleon Complex” in small dogs is definitely true for her. We affectionately say that she just has high standards!
