Interview: Charlie
Pets, they’re your best friend and confidant. Big or small, fluffy or a bit scruffy, it doesn’t matter, we love them all. They’re there for you unconditionally and the feeling is mutual. Our interview series celebrates this special bond between animals and hoomans. Let the awws begin.
Doggo: Charlie or Charles if I am mad at him (1 year 8 months old)
Home: Los Angeles, USA
Charlie’s original owners posted on Craigslist saying they were giving a litter away. I came across the listing by accident, and when I saw his photo it was pretty much decided for me that he was gonna be my dog!
I chose “Charlie” because his black and white spots looked just like this poster of Charlie Chaplin I have at home. I love and work in movies, and I really wanted to give him a “human” name, so it just clicked.
It's hard to choose one thing I love most about Charlie, but his giant bunny ears are pretty incomparable (he's a Pitbull, Husky, German Shepherd mix).
He’s lovable, full of energy, and super smart. Everything he does is hilarious (spoken like a true dog mom.) He's generally a very quiet dog, but I taught him how to "talk" as one of his tricks. Now whenever he wants to make a case for the food that we're eating, he will “awoo” a lot and have a conversation with me and it's always so adorably funny.
On the weekend, we love to go on a long hike together, then spend the evening snuggling on the couch. After eating lots of food and treats throughout the day of course.
He can and will chew through anything if it's left unattended on the floor. I’ve bought every toy that promised to be indestructible but nothing can withstand Charlie! Thankfully he’s not interested in the furniture.
Not only is he the best companion for outdoor activities, but he’s also the sweetest cuddle buddy. Having a dog is the best cure for any bad mood. So much joy all the time.
