Interview: Miu Miu
Pets, they’re your best friend and confidant. Big or small, fluffy or a bit scruffy, it doesn’t matter, we love them all. They’re there for you unconditionally and the feeling is mutual. Our interview series celebrates this special bond between animals and hoomans. Let the awws begin.
Hooman: I'm Christina, and after graduating from Sotheby's Institute of Art, I decided to stay in London and to start my own art and fashion business. Recently, I opened a small pet store online called Wonderfurry because Ilove those cute pet stuff.
Doggo: Miu Miu (10 months old) aka Miu or Little Worm.
Home: London, United Kingdom
Miu Miu is a long-haired mini-dachshund. My boyfriend and I argued quite a lot about if now is the right time to have a dog before we had Miu because we are still renting. I had two poodles in China, and now they are living with my parents, so I know having a pet is a lifetime responsibility. I thought it wasn’t the right time to have a pet. But after we saw Miu Miu for the first time, I couldn't wait to bring her home. And of course, we try to give Miu Miu the best home and will be responsible for her whole life.
Because I have my own art and fashion business, I named her after the Italian women fashion brand Miu Miu, and I just feel it sounds cute.
Miu Miu is just sweet, most of the time. At the beginning when she was a puppy she would steal things she shouldn’t all the time. She’s less naughty now with training. She loves cuddles and kisses, except when she is exhausted, then she doesn't want anyone to disturb her.
Miu Miu is always making funny faces. I find her many facial expressions very funny. But I assume every dog owner thinks their own dog is hilarious. The funniest thing Miu Miu did and still keeps doing is snoring like an old guy when she is sleeping. Because we sleep in the same bedroom, many nights we just laugh about it.
It's very difficult to pick just one thing I love the most about Miu Miu, because I love her so much. She is so sweet and smart, if I have to say one thing, then it’s her super soft fur—we can’t stop petting her!
Because of the lockdown, every day seems the same now, we get up about 8:30am, and she goes potty, then it’s breakfast time for all of us. Then we start to work, and Miu Miu has her morning nap till about 11:15am, which is the time to go out for a walk, if we’re busy at this time, then we will walk her later at 5pm. After the walk (at least 30 mins), she will have an afternoon nap or chill till 5pm or 6pm, and then it’s playtime until 7pm when she gets dinner. It sounds like quite a boring day (for now). During weekends, we always drive to some different parks to let her explore more nature.
As I mentioned, Miumiu is not my first pet, but she is my boyfriend's first dog. I know the many troubles a dog can bring, especially a puppy; they are so naughty and energetic. When they become adults, then it is different, they will be the sweetest and most loyal friends. After having Miu Miu in our life, especially during the first several weeks, my boyfriend and I had many disagreements about the dog.
As time goes by, we start to appreciate that we can have her in our lives and we get used to having her around us. For us, before having her, on weekends, we usually went to art museums and galleries, or cinemas, but now we go to parks with Miu Miu. Weekends are more for our doggy now, then for humans
