Interview: Albus
Pets, they’re your best friend and confidant. Big or small, fluffy or a bit scruffy, it doesn’t matter, we love them all. They’re there for you unconditionally and the feeling is mutual. Our interview series celebrates this special bond between animals and hoomans. Let the awws begin.
Hooman: Liz, a 28 year old primary school teacher.
Bunny: Albus (1 year and a bit) aka Albs, Albie, little floof, little boy, Albasauru
Home: North West, United Kingdom
My boyfriend already had a house rabbit (Albus’ girlfriend Anna). I looked after her on a few occasions and decided I wanted a rabbit of my own. I contacted a lionhead rabbit breeder who directed me to Albus’ breeder. She had a few left and I picked him up a few weeks later.
I’ve always loved Harry Potter, so I named him after Albus Dumbledore. Albus has a big bushy beard and it seemed to fit as he often looks like a grumpy old wizard.
Albs looks permanently grumpy. He has days where he can be a bit antisocial but loves a good cuddle and will quite often come over for attention on the sofa.
His days are simple, all he does is: Sleep, eat, sleep, zoomies, binky, eat, sleep.
Albus can be naughty sometimes. He has tried to jump halfway up my living room wall to reach a high shelf. He essentially fell back to earth with a bang after scratching the wall and looking like a cartoon character as they fall from a cliff.
He also likes to sneak into my boyfriend’s house if we are in the garden and once had us looking for him for five minutes until we found him inside happily hopping around. He’s also chewed the carpet in multiple locations.
Since bringing Albus home, I’m a lot less lonely now. He brightens my day and makes me giggle. I’ve also made several new friends because of him.
